Updated ranking of the best countries in the world
Political scientist Dr. Theresa Paola Stawski, who works at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg (JMU), conducted an analysis of each of the 173 countries in the world, where the main goal was to check how the state carries out the functions assigned to it. In particular, the quality of the implementation of tasks and powers of law enforcement and executive authorities, as well as the judicial system, was assessed.
According to Teresa Stawski, the state manifests itself in everything that surrounds us: on the street, in court, at the police, in the hospital and at school. But not in all countries can a person quickly receive a quality medical examination, easily enroll in a school or use electricity around the clock. Therefore, based on the quality of services provided in government institutions and the general state of infrastructure in cities, this rating was formed.
The best countries in the world: top rating
Some countries have impressive indicators. The top 10 best countries in the world include:
- 1. Singapore
- 2. Australia
- 3. Denmark
- 4. Netherlands
- 5. Estonia
- 6. Luxembourg
- 7. Norway
- 8. Belgium
- 9. New Zealand
- 10. Germany
Thus, Singapore became the best country in the world in terms of the quality of functioning of state institutions. Finland, Seychelles, Great Britain, Sweden and Portugal are slightly behind the top ten. It is interesting that the United States of America took 23rd place in the ranking of the best countries, and even lost to Malta and Uruguay.
Features of the analysis conducted
Based on the data published in the report, the form of government does not affect the indicator of the quality of state functioning. A striking example proving this is that Singapore took the honorable 1st place, and the United Arab Emirates – 32nd place.
At the same time, according to the experts’ comments, a democratic political regime allows the country to develop more rapidly and qualitatively due to the fact that citizens are maximally involved in the process and can contribute to improving the state of the state..
The worst countries in the world to live in
The last places in the Stlx rating are occupied by countries where state institutions are completely destroyed and do not work. In particular, some of the worst countries were Yemen, South Sudan, Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea. The last place was taken by Libya, where the situation is the worst of all.
In addition, Chad, the Central African Republic, Haiti, Somalia, Syria and Venezuela have significant problems in the functioning of state institutions.
